I can't believe I have known you for 12 years and only just learning all of this about you. Beautiful and addictive writing as always.

A chocolate shop! Ok stop living my dream childhood. Although I have a feeling it’s all about to go tits up 😭

Got waylaid before I could comment when I first read this, Faith. Really enjoying. The upcoming economic downturn sounds mighty stressful. Looking forward to Part 3.

Thank you Wendy I really appreciate that!

My son had the exact same 'Head' bag in 1993 - stolen when we were burgled, perhaps by an envious observer who took just that and our state of the art Video recorder/player ...

A moment revisited - great work Faith - thank you.

Thank you so much for reading Cherry. Glad it wasn’t just me who remembers those bags. Shame it was swiped!

Good grief Faith, I would've never gone to school!

I'm remembering now that I'd sometimes take boys I fancied the chocolates that would go in the ice-creams 😂 Subtle.

Fascinating Faith ! What a childhood growing up in a chocolate shop ! Wow ! Not sure I’d be happy being roped in to work in it though as a kid 😆 the knitted tie and tampax box cracked me up 🤣

Ha ha thank you Francis! Glad you liked that bit:) The roping in had its advantages as I got paid for it 🤑

I think I'd be diabetic if I grew up in a chocolate shop.

I really want to know what happened next. I've never had much money but the thought of getting rich then losing it makes me really anxious.

That was a really immersive story, I look forward to number three.

Thank you so much Dean, I love the word 'immersive'.

And you've hit the nail on the head exactly with the word 'anxious', which is quite something. I think if I'd read your comment a few years ago I could have saved hundreds on therapy!!

You're very welcome!

Although I'm sure there's always something to send us to therapy!

What a cliffhanger to end on! You're so good at that, leaving us wanting more. I wonder, will we hear the story of how it all came crashing down?

As Gordon Gekko said, "Greed - for lack of a better word - is good."

A question about your subtitle - seems like you come from a family of brains, but was there any brawn? Is that why things eventually came to an end?

(I'm doing my usual over-analysing again 😂)

(Btw, the Pet Shop Boys are right up there with Suede when it comes to incredible B-sides!)

Ha ha I love the over analysis! No it wasn't a brawn issue - all will be revealed in next week's track! Clue - I blame Thatcher.

You're right about the Pet Shop Boys! I can't think of a more fitting soundtrack for the times, so prepare for more references from that song alone!

Thanks for reading Daniel 😍

It's easy to blame Thatcher for a lot. Let's face it, she was the epitome of evil and everything that was bad about the 80s 😠

Very true. It's hard to imagine what things would be like now if she hadn't existed.

Great relatable story Faith, I’m right with you…but can’t shake a sense of foreboding…gripped!

Thank you so much Ruth! I'm so glad you enjoyed it - and felt the tension. Much appreciated 😍

I am loving the memoir series, Faith!!! The shop sounds amazing and looks so cute! Thank you for including the image of the 'individual head bag' I was picturing something very different

Thank you so much Ruby! It was pretty amazing when I think about it now. Ah, those bags were quite popular at the time - for wannnabe sporty people I think 😊

I still dream of finding a thing I can build up from nothing. I am creative like your dad but I would need your mum to actually make things get done.

Sounds like a fun childhood!

Thank you Ragged, it was so much fun - while it lasted! And they were a great team for these sorts of things...
